Clay and Paper

Each pot is handmade by Ira Burhans and most are wheel-thrown. They are made from stoneware clay. Some are carved or altered to create aesthetic curves and textures. The cast paper wall sculptures, by Barbara Melby-Burhans are made by hand-pressing a cotton linter pulp into an original mold. They are hand-painted and sealed with acrylic to withstand high humidity and resist breakage.
