Working in clay has been my passion for over twenty years. Starting at Cal Poly, Pomona, where I received my degree, I have continued to expand my knowledge of the ceramic medium. I studied with Ning Yeh, Master Oriental brush painter from Huntington Beach, California, where I learned the subtleties of brushwork along with internalizing the Oriental philosophy, that continues to influence my sculptural work.
To strengthen my ceramic knowledge I attended Mohave Valley College in Arizona, and Victor Valley College, California, under the direction of my mentor artist Gene Kleinsmith.
A fascination with nature and trees has pervaded most of my 30-year career in art. I attended ceramics courses at college; later studied Chinese brush painting, from which I learned the subtleties of brushwork and the Chinese philosophy that influences my work.
